Welcome to Keshka Ballet
My name is Kesh. I am a former principal ballet dancer and classical ballet teacher specialising in the Vaganova method.
I offer in-person ballet classes on the Gold Coast for both adults and children, as well as online classes through my Online Ballet Academy, designed for those who would like to practice at home and progress at their own pace.
My teaching is based on my professional ballet career and training at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy.
Adult classes are open to everyone, from complete beginners to dancers returning to the studio after many years. Classes focus on developing correct technique, strength and musicality through traditional barre and centre work.
Children’s classes for ages 4–6 introduce the fundamentals of classical ballet in a structured and engaging way, helping young dancers learn basic ballet positions and simple movements while building strong foundations for future training.
Private lessons are also available for those seeking individual coaching — from learning the foundations at their own pace to dancers of all ages preparing for auditions, competitions or refining their technique.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Where are your ballet classes located?
My in-person ballet classes are held in Palm Beach on the Gold Coast, Australia.
-
Do I need prior ballet experience?
No, you don’t need any prior experience. You’re very welcome to start as a complete beginner.
Ballet can feel unfamiliar at first — especially with new terminology in French and coordination — but it becomes clearer and more natural with each class.
I guide you through everything step by step, demonstrating and explaining as we go, so there’s no pressure to remember combinations straight away. Options are always given for different levels, allowing you to progress at your own pace.
My classes are supportive and welcoming, with many students starting from zero — there is no judgment or comparison, just a shared focus on learning and improving.
-
Am I too old to start ballet?
Not at all. Many of my adult students begin ballet later in life or return after many years away from training.
In my classes we focus on building strength, mobility, flexibility, coordination and musicality, allowing students to progress gradually and enjoy the process without pressure.
-
What should I wear to a ballet class?
For my ballet classes, I recommend comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and see your alignment clearly.
If you’re just starting, simple workout clothing is perfectly fine. Regular socks are ideal — grip socks are not suitable as they restrict movement on the floor. Hair should be tied back so posture and placement are visible.
If you find that you enjoy ballet and want the full experience, you may choose to invest in ballet attire such as a leotard, tights, skirt, and ballet slippers — but this is completely optional and there is no pressure.
-
Do you offer ballet classes for children?
Yes, I offer ballet classes for children aged 4–6.
At this age, the focus is on building strong foundations — posture, coordination, musicality, and an understanding of basic ballet technique — in a way that is both structured and enjoyable.
Classes are designed to introduce ballet correctly from the very beginning, while keeping the experience positive and engaging.
-
Do you offer private ballet coaching?
Yes. I offer private ballet coaching on the Gold Coast.
Private lessons are suitable for anyone — from complete beginners who want to start at their own pace, to experienced dancers preparing for competitions, auditions, or exams.
Working 1:1 allows us to focus on your individual goals, refine technique, improve alignment, and develop artistry — not just executing the steps correctly, but bringing quality, expression, and presence into your dancing.
-
Are the classes taught by a Bolshoi-trained dancer?
Yes. I have graduated from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, one of the world's leading classical ballet schools.
My training continues to shape how I teach today, with a focus on strong foundations, correct technique, musicality and expressive movement through the Vaganova method.
-
What is the Vaganova method of ballet training?
The Vaganova method is a classical ballet training system developed by Agrippina Vaganova in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
It focuses on building strength, coordination, flexibility, and musicality through a structured, progressive approach, helping dancers move with both control and expression.
